Your wedding day is certainly among the most important days of your life, so you need to plan months in advance to make it an unforgettable one. Make sure that you pay attention to every aspect of your wedding from the clothes, your hair, the decorations, accessories, invites, themes…the list is endless.
World of colors: Neutrals such as cream and peach are making an appearance this season. To ensure that there are enough colors of spring, throw in gold with a hint of rose or silver. Jewelry and accessories in these tones are a current hit. If you want a bright theme, you could pick orchid or a radiant purple, which has been dubbed the color of the year. Centerpieces in bright purples paired with a white table cover look fabulous. Pastels are evergreen choices and so are muted tones. Pink is being widely used this season and is used as a dominant color, in combination with other shades.
Patterns: Natural motifs such as butterflies and birds are making an appearance on table covers, accessories as well as decor elements in themed wedding receptions. Bold patterns are the latest trend, so go all out with patterns. Experiment with florals prints and stripes for your wedding decor.
Wedding gowns: Covered shoulders and sleeves with lace are some of the major wedding dress trends of the year. Crop-top dresses are quite popular too. Two-piece dresses lend an element of sophistication and class. Low-back dresses, and stunning cut-out patterns are also flattering designs and are all the rage this year. Subtle or ultra-subtle colors with an ombre impact are well worth trying as well.
Wedding cakes and invites: Cakes for the season include floral and fruity motifs, and also come with toppings that have fruits of the season. Light-flavored cakes like lemony ones are also being chosen for spring weddings, while richer cakes such as chocolate-based ones are being chosen for a winter wedding. When it comes to invites, the emphasis is on adding a personalized touch. An increasing number of couples are asking for small yet creative invitations. Watercolors are being used to create a soft, pastel touch to invitation cards. Recycled, handcrafted paper is also being increasingly used for wedding invitations.
Bridesmaid dresses: Pale and mint greens are popular colors for bridesmaid dresses, but maids in the same colors and co-ordinated shades/prints are no longer in. For the spring season, neutral colors such as ivory or eggshell tones are in, but also hugely popular this year are bright colors such as berry and purple shades. Get your bridesmaids to wear different colors and patterns for a nice fun impact.
Make-up and hair-do: Understated is the way to go this season, so pare down your make-up and opt for bare lips minus shocking pinks, reds or purple shades. A small shimmer on the eyelids can create a stunning effect. Go for braids or tie your hair in a simple knot to create a spring wedding effect, and use ribbons or flowers as embellishments.
